Honor 6C with Snapdragon 435 SoC, 3GB RAM, fingerprint sensor launched: Prices, specifications, features

Honor 6C is the successor to last year’s Honor 5C smartphone.


Huawei’s sub-brand Honor launched the Honor 8 Pro smartphone earlier this week, and now, it has launched yet another smartphone called the Honor 6C. As the name suggests, the smartphone is the successor to the Honor 5C smartphone, and it will be available in grey, silver and gold color options. The Honor 6C has been launched in Europe, and it will go on sale towards the end of April with a price tag of 229 Euros (approximately Rs 15, 700). There’s however no word on when the company plans to launch the smartphone in other countries.

In terms of design, Honor 6C sports a metal body, and the fingerprint scanner is placed at the back. While the design hasn’t seen much changes when compared to its predecessor, the difference can be spotted only at the rear where the camera module and the fingerprint scanner have become circular. Up front, the smartphone retains its 2.5D glass, whereas the volume rocker and power button are placed on the right hand side.

The smartphone flaunts a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display. Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz, and paired with Adreno 505 GPU and 3GB RAM. There is also 32GB internal memory, which can be further expandable up to 128GB with microSD.

On the camera front, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, LED Flash. For selfies, there’s a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. Keeping the smartphone ticking is a 3,020mAh battery with connectivity options including dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. Apart from that, the it comes with a 3.5 mm headset jack and support for NFC. Lastly, the smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 on top out-of-the-box.

In comparison, the Honor 5C came with a 5.2-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS LCD display, Kirin 650 octa-core chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot. The smartphone is also equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, 3,000mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS, GLONASS. On the software front, it runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 wrapped under EMUI 4.1.
