Netflix updates its Windows 10 app with offline playback

Netflix subscribers who frequent the Windows 10 PC application will be glad to hear that they can now download movies and TV shows for offline playback. Unfortunately, like on Android and iOS, only some videos can be saved locally — but there’s still a pretty good selection available, including Breaking Bad, Shooter and Stranger Things.

Downloading a show couldn’t be easier. All you have to do is hit the down-facing arrow next to the episode you want to save. That’s all there is to it. Once downloaded, it’ll be placed in the My Downloads section of the application, which is accessible by opening up the hamburger menu in the top-left corner.

What about Windows 10 Mobile and Xbox One?

It’s unclear whether the streaming giant is planning on issuing a similar upgrade for its Windows 10 Mobile and Xbox One version of the application, though it’s pretty safe to assume it will. We should also note that the PC release is being distributed in stages, so if it’s not showing up in your download queue just yet, it will soon.
