OPPO A57 with 16-megapixel selfie camera launched in Australia: Price, specifications, features
The smartphone comes with Beautify 4.0 for better selfies in low light conditions.
Among its long line of selfie-centric smartphones, OPPO had launched the A57 smartphone back in China last year. The smartphone made its way to India this February and was launched at a price of Rs 14,990. OPPO has now launched the A57 in Australia for a price of $327, which translates to Rs 15,900 approximately. The OPPO A57 will be available for purchase in two online retail stores namely JB Hi-Fi and Officeworks, and in color options of black and gold. While Officeworks sells the smartphone for $327, JB Hi-Fi prices it a dollar higher at $328.
The OPPO A57 when launched in China and India, was available in two color options of gold and rose gold. Black is a new color variant introduced by OPPO for the A57 in Australia. With selfies being the focus here, the OPPO A57 features a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, and Beautify 4.0 which is claimed to deliver better selfies in low light condition. In terms of design, the OPPO A57 flaunts a metal unibody with a capsule shaped Home button which also doubles as a fingerprint sensor.

The OPPO A57 features a 5.2-inch HD IPS display with a 2.5D curved glass on top. Under the hood of the smartphone, it runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and paired with Adreno 505 GPU. In terms of memory, the OPPO A57 comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage which is further expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. The smartphone is powered by a 2,900mAh battery. Its connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. On the software front, the OPPO A57 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with ColorOS on top. As far as competition goes, Vivo and Gionee would be OPPO’s main rivals and the Vivo Y66 fits the description and price to go against the OPPO A57. The Vivo Y66, priced at the same Rs 14,990, and features a 5.5-inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass on top. At the core of the smartphone, it runs a MediaTek 6750 octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 32GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card. The smartphone also houses a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. The Vivo Y66 is powered by a 3,000mAh battery and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with FunTouch OS 3.0 on top. Its connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
