Oppo A77 with 16-megapixel front-facing camera launched in Taiwan: Price, specifications and features
Oppo A77 is the first smartphone to come with a “Selfie Portrait” mode in a single lens system.
Oppo has quietly launched a new mid-range smartphone in its A-series. Called Oppo A77, the smartphone is now listed on Oppo’s Taiwanese website for $364, which is approximately Rs 23,400 and will go on pre-orders in Taiwan starting May 19. However, the official availability of the phone will start from May 26.
The OPPO A77 features a metal unibody design with a capsule shaped home button on the front, which also doubles as a fingerprint scanner. The smartphone will be offered in gold and rose gold color options.
Oppo A77 specifications, features
The Oppo A77 features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) display. It is powered by MediaTek’s MT6750T octa-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz and paired with 4GB of RAM. There is also a 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expandable using a microSD card.
On the camera front, the OPPO A77 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, LED Flash. For selfies and video calling, there is a 16-megapixel front-facing camera of f/2.0 aperture with Beauty 4.0 and Portrait Mode to add DSLR-like blur background effect. It is quite interesting considering that the front camera neither has a dual lens setup, nor does it have auto-focus to be able to add depth-of-field effects.
On the connectivity front, the smartphone offers hybrid dual-SIM support, 4G, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth, and GPS. The smartphone comes with a 3,200mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with ColorOS 3.0 UI on top. Apart from this, Oppo is also gearing up to launch the R11 and R11 Plus smartphones. There is a possibility that Oppo could launch both smartphones sometime in June. They are likely to come with dual-rear camera setup – a combination twin 20-megapixel sensors, and a single front-facing camera of 20-megapixel resolution.
