Samsung will distribute a software update to fix a display issue that some early adopters of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus have been experiencing.

Building on the firm’s initial claim that a display problem experienced on the Galaxy S8 is not hardware-related, the firmware will regulate the handset’s color balance to remove a slight reddish tint.

Let’s talk about specs

Just in case you missed its announcement (very unlikely, we know), the Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inch Infinity Display, an Exynos 8895/Snapdragon 835 processor, a 12MP rear-facing camera, an 8MP selfie shooter and a 3,000mAh battery.

The Galaxy S8 Plus, which is our preferred device, packs almost identical internals, though it has a larger 6.2-inch panel and a 3,500mAh cell.
